"Well, you know what the merchant told him? 'You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting.' This is not logical, but it is often true. The odd pale man just laughed and laughed." Jesseira said, looking a little uneasy. "Then he looked at me for a moment. I was frightened out of my life, I tell you. He just returned to his merchant friend and said 'By golly, Jim... I'm beginning to think I can cure a rainy day!' I don't know what he meant, but I think he might've been commenting on me." She crossed her arms. "The nerve!"

"Aww, you poor Dear, how dare that oafish beast. Still, at least he must have noticed you because he thought you attractive Dearest. Always look on the bright side of life," she comforted Jesseira. She patted her gently on the knee.
"Think nothing of his brutish comments."

Jesseira refused to be comforted. "Oh, he makes me so angry, giving me those glances and pointing at me! I want to tell him, 'You dirty rat! And when they throw you in prison at last you will never die with honor!'" She stamped her feet and made a big scene, then finally calmed down with a sigh. "Sorry, it's just..."

Nerissa waved Jessiera into silence.
"There's no need for apologies. Women are not inherently passive or peaceful. We’re not inherently anything but human. We shouldn't be ashamed of our feelings just because we're a different gender, at least not in privacy anyway," she explained. The latter part was accompanied by a sly wink.

Sariah, though disgusted with the Nerissa, returned to talk to the woman and her friends. They seemed to be having the most lively of conversations.
"Idiocy is hard to endure without being angry, Jesseira. I know that men can be very...well, they can be men. I once had a relation with this very odd man. He claimed that he was from the future, he would leave the room and always say to me, in this very distinct voice, 'I'll be back!'." Sariah sighed about the memory, clear that she missed that man, then she added, "Then he disappeared. To the future, I suppose."

Jesseira broke into laughter. "From the future? That's ridiculous. One day you might say to yourself that this was maybe not such a good idea!" She calmed herself and looked out at the other end of the park, spying a black shape for only a moment before it, mercifully, left. She let out a sigh of relief, which might have seemed odd had nobody else seen the man.

Danika, who was just about as cunning as a fox who has just been names Professor of Cunning at Oxford University , stopped her walk when she heard a few other noblewomen chatting in the park. Of course, she thought herself and the others about as similar as two completely dissimilar things in a pod . She didn't enjoy giggling, and she is sure all that glitters is gold .
"Morning!" she said cheerily, even though it was probably not morning.

Nerissa glanced over. The woman wasn't part of her group but she seemed friendly enough. Maybe they could recruit her instead of the other noblewoman who was missing in action this meeting. "You know Dears, I think we might have a new recruit. If she's as keen of eye, swift of thought, and regular of bowel as the rest of us, we could have ourselves a very good laugh," she whispered conspirationally to the group. "Morning my Lady, how does the day go?" she called out to the stranger.

She was as happy as if she were receiving a pair of 'Christmas socks.'
" Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not? " asked Danika, with a laugh. She made her way over to the group and looked at each of the other noblewomen in turn.

Noticing Jesseira's sigh, and the cause of that sigh, she stepped forward. As loudly as she could manage, and with a little of the dramatics that made her so easily the center of attention, she called out, "DARK FIRE SHALL NOT AVAIL YOU! Flame of Udun! YOU SHALL NOT PASS."
She then burst out in uncontrollable sobs. She was having a wonderful time. She turned to the group, having a random thought, "My favorite color is pink. Do you know what pink is?"

Jesseira heard the shout, and stared at her for a moment. "Fly, you fool! We have no need for your madness here, I tell you. Or were you simply no longer the center of attention?" She asked, giving her an odd look.

"This is madness! Please ladies. Calm down and start talking sense. Deary me i have Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Can we please just have a little order here girls?" Nerissa cried loudly to the group.

"Just don't expect me to do what Thelma and Louise did, when they got the blues." Sariah said, to both of the women who had tried to quiet her.
