I was thinking of making a Centaur character, but from what I gather with the lore, they don't use magic? Alsoooo how long do they live, and what do they actually wear? :S Do they cover their human part? Just want to get this straight before I make a character audition and you're all like wtf is this girl on Oh and do they often interact with Humans? If they don't I'll make a simple human or elf to be on the safe and easy side Sorry to sound noob btw.

Hmm. I really ought to work on that. For now here's the basics: Males are bare-chested or can wear simple tunics. There's no need for them to cover anything but if you're cold... You're cold. Female's wear just enough to cover their... erm... assets? shall we say. Or a blouse. *shrug* so long as we don't have to see more than we should. Centaurs live the same length of time as humans. Centaurs aren't generally magic users though males that have undergone the rite of passage across the water will invariably have come into contact with humans. It can be assumed that some of them will have rudimentary skills that have been picked up. Please note that only centaurs that have left the isle will have learned this magic. Also please note that young centaur just leaving the isle won't be used to interactions with humans, sword skills, axe skills, common agricultural techniques, etc. They don't have forges you see

Thanks for that The age thing confused me, I didn't know if they lived as long as a horse or a human, or both added together. So what I gather - No/extremely basic magic Primitive weapons And the human thing is dependent on how long they are away from the isle and have been mixing with them. [glow=red,2,300]Edit:[/glow] Bother I forgot to ask! Is that medieval human age, or modern day? I know they didn't live much past 50 back then..

Exactamundo And to the added bit... medieval age. I'm willing to raise the bar to 65ish though. But that really is dying, unable to look after oneself age.

In medieval times it was not impossible for people to live past 65, plenty of villagers had elders that were really old and there are several records of people living past 90. It was just not very common that they did. The reason the average age was so low was due to a lot of children dying young, not that people actually lived shorter lives. Granted, medicine has done wonders but a person not getting sick back then could almost live for as long time as people do nowadays.

True enough there were hardy souls that lived past 80 though I'm still setting the bar at 65 for characters in roleplays. If everyone decides they want an ancient grandfather then it'll irk me somewhat. Yes, yes, it might add depth to a character but it gets meddlessome when the population of the forum increases and a quarter of them each seem to have their own 90 year old relic of a family member. Nobody wants to see me send Razgriz about to 'pop some cloggs' of the elderly.
