I thought a topic on this issue might be useful, both to us and our lovely authors.
The idea is to write down ideas on how to make the races be separate from humans here. Traditions, proverbs, metaphors, way of thinking and whatnot.
I am trying to make elves a bit different than humans with my roleplaying, so far it's pretty much only noticeable in his way of speaking though.
Naturally, if we come up with ideas that are not liked by Valalerin or Engelbert we have to accept their veto. It's their world after all.
My first thought is that Centaurs will probably not understand why humans domesticate horses as steeds. To use others for transport is unthinkable to them (I assume even their young will be able to walk within minutes of their birth). I am also imagining that they would be very insulted if one asked to ride on one of them.
So, any other ideas on how to flesh out the races in the tiny details?
