Description:
The Harpies are all female. Their features are almost elven in appearance; sharing the same high cheek bones, pointed tipped ears and slim figure.
However they do not possess arms like the elves, but great leathery wings with sharp, almost batlike claws at the joints. They also have deformed feet. In the place of delicate toes and fine arches, terrible raking talons grow upon scaley webbed feet.
The Harpies have very pale skin which looks almost eerie against the general dark coloured hair and wings common to their kind. Their eyes are fully black, the iris so dark that it is indistinguishable from the pupil.
A Harpies dress-code is also relatively primeval compared to those of other races, even those of the ogres. Sack-like dresses made of rags are worn; slashed open at the back to allow freedom of the wings.
History:
The Harpies have not always existed in the world of Archidet, nor did their existance come about naturally. In truth, they are hybrids; a result of the blending of innocent female elven children and dark demons from beyond.
The ritual itself is shrouded in secrecy. A small number of sorcerors are entrusted the secret and are carefully watched over by the Dark Lord Razgriz to ensure their complete obedience. These sorcerors are said to be hidden in a secret location known only to the Dark Lord Razgriz himself. It is therefore questionable whether they exist at all.
Way of Life:
The harpies exist in fractured groups that can only be described as tribes. This is not due to any bonding between the individuals of the tribes, it is merely because without such spacing between groups, there would not be enough food to feed the whole horde of harpies.
The harpies generally live in the woods abandonned by the elves (commonly known as the Fallen Woods). They are primarily carnivorous, preying upon any other forest inhabitant.
The harpies themselves only obey the words of the Dark Lord Razgriz and his selection of favourites. The Favourites are to be considered the most high ranking position within harpy hierarchy as they are the only individuals who are obeyed within the collective. Favourites are distinguished by the amulet given to them by the Dark Lord Razgriz. In total there are 5 Favourites including Tzach'nita. The Elven King's youngest daughter now in the form of a harpy.
The Harpies refer to The Dark Lord Razgriz as 'The Creator'.
Faith:
There is only one God and he is The Creator. The Dark Lord Razgriz is to be obeyed as his word is law; his word is Life.
Places of Importance : Northern land mass.
The Infinate Mountains
Though almost completely inhospitable there are some small groups of harpies that wander these vast mountains. There are many jagged peaks and deep valleys so the land would be difficult to traverse if it wasn't for the great wings that harpies posses.
Harpies do not stay in any one place for long so there are no towns or villages made by the harpies in the mountains.
Nerek'Thaler (aka. The Fallen Woods)
This dense forest is incredibly large and is home to the vast majority of the Harpies since they evicted the Elves from their homes. The cities and towns of the elves have fallen into ruin but are sometimes still inhabited by the Harpies.
Other Lands
Harpies are only found elsewhere when being accompanied by The Dark Lord Razgriz. When making appearances in the lands of Shrenk, The Dark Lord Razgriz will often take an entourage of 5 - 10 harpies for the King's amusement.
