Role-play Example:
The continuous lapping of waves against the stone cliff dulled senses and feelings. The form that stood on the lip of the cliff allowed its optics to close, and entered its mind calmly. Gaze upon this equine and discover her to be female. Her bodice swayed gently with the breeze and the rhythm of the waves. Blue roan colors stained her pelt, and under her eyelids were dark brown eyes that were both soft and forgiving.
In her empty mind, memories began to trickle in…
A soft nudge caused her eyes to open, and she discovered she was no longer by the ocean, but rather in a lush meadow. An older stallion had delivered the nudge. His golden pelt was radiant in the noon sun. His lips formed a smile that warmed the now filly’ soul. Brother, her thoughts cried out to him. Slowly she mustered up the strength to command her thin legs to stand. The one with the golden pelt slowly began to lead her out of the meadow and into a near valley. She stopped, however, as she felt the ground ripple.
The scenery ‘round her changed once more in a swirl of greens and blues. She was now larger and stood in the valley. Her tail flicked, as she looked about her childhood home searching for the one, she called brother. Instead over the lip of the valley appeared an ebony stallion much older than the one she longed to see. His cold eyes set upon her beautiful bodice. Fear flowed through her and she urged her legs to move. However, they did not obey. She stood frozen in place as the stallion neared.
She longed to pull away as his flesh brushed against hers. Hot breath fluttered into her ear. Hello, my dove, he whispered softly to her. Instinct told her to run or fight, but she could do neither, she was trapped in her memories and could not change what happened next…
His weight crushed upon her back and she had lost the one thing she could never regain.
Running, faster and faster until the ground swallowed her up. Sides heaved as she stared at the world above her praying for guidance. Clouds parted sending a ray of sun to douse her bodice. It cut through the pain and emptiness she felt and warmed her soul. When the light was covered by a cloud the femme stood, and continued to walk through the forest on the edge of her childhood boundaries. A voice called out her name…
Blue Child, it sang deeply. It was the golden one, her brother. She tensed and hid herself behind a tree. Shame filled her as she gazed upon her brother. Something streaked his legs and sides. Crimson liquid… blood. Tears streamed down his golden features, and the mare tried to call out to him only to be silenced by the past. He walked past her in his frantic search… She watched him turn home, head hanging low with sadness. At last, a tear fell down her face breaking the memory.
Air was sucked into her chest with a start as the sounds of the ocean washed over her once more. Tears flowed down her face as she looked out over the sea. She had followed it all the way here. Running from the past in search of her destiny that she had hoped lay beyond the horizon. She wanted to live forever by the sea; its calm sounds soothed her nightmares, and memories. Its grace was timeless and free. The beckoning sea…
Slowly the tears ceased as she calmed and the memories faded. Anger was nowhere to be found within her. Not at the stallion that stole her chastity or at herself. She could blame no one for destiny. The gruesome act that had led her here had been a calling, a sign showing her the way to a new home.
Home… It seemed so far away. The place where her brother and her had played in the hills. Where her mother had nursed her and taught her about the forest and lands. The place where she longed to return to, but could never go back. The breeze chilled her bodice as she gazed up at the sky. She remembered looking up at when it had happened. Seeing its vastness. It seemingly unending like her future… Many spoke about the end, as though when you died that was it. The mare that stared up into the sky believed there was more. That this time here on the land was the test and the after life was the reward. She longed for peace for all equines no matter what alliance. The titles they gave themselves meant nothing to her. She did not believe that darks were that different from lights. They were all sons and daughters, sisters and brothers, and mothers and fathers. They would all die, and live on…
Peace & War
Love & Hate
They were all feelings all things. However, without one another, they would be nothing. You need two halves to make a whole. All equines needed one another whether they thought so or not. Without each other, we would be nothing as well… Empty souls who wandered this Earth without purpose.
Without someone to call another half…
