Hi, again.
When roleplaying on another site, I devised a "subdivision" of Elves...
I'm aware of the Sea Elves, Wood Elves, and whatever those elves who live in Rivendell are called, but what about Desert Elves...?
Well, I thought it could be spiffy, anyway. Any opinion...?

Engelbert seems to be... Gone for a long time, so I'll answer. We're not using any 'special Elves' like Wood or Dark or [Word] Elves, we're just using run-of-the-mill Elves. It's simpler, and it means rather than have one race with hundreds of branches, we have a race, then another different race and so on. When you get too many Elves people start hankering for cross-breeds too, which we're doing our best to destroy the possibility of

Cross breeds.... *shudders* 0.o
Well then, how about one of the ships on the way to the new Elf Homeworld was blown off course...?

You do realise that the "souls of iron"-group are in fact making such a radical split from the rest of the elves they're sort of a culture of their own (or soon to be either way). If you're after something a bit different you could keep an eye out for them. Not a sub-race though, just culturally different.
I'll continue posting soon... just waiting for Engelbert to finish the post and perhaps for my right hand to heal.

Sorry about my absense. I just haven't been able to get on.
The elves are as different from humans as African people are as different from English people.
They look different, have different customs and a different language but aside from that, they're the same on the inside. You don't have wood humans or sea humans so there's no reason to have wood elves or sea elves.... they're just... good climbers... or sailors.
*cough*
and what aux-ash said is the truth. His "mutiny" against the elven norm will form a separate group of Elves that will no doubt begin to look a little different if they're not accepted into the main body of lves. Eventually. I mean.... that's what happens when particular groups of individuals come together. It's called evolution.
This isn't to say i'm supporting the interbreeding of the races... The majority of the elves are a haughty bunch and humans are just.... ugly... as far as they're concerned. This isn't a reality show, there is no "beauty and the geek" presenter, very very pretty people just rarely fall for people they consider akin to slugs when it comes to physical attraction.
