Most races follow the passing of years by the turning of the seasons. The centaurs count the passing of the years in accordance to the bi-annular forming of the path to the mainland and also by the positions of the stars. Humans follow a different method, a method which has been taken up by the Trogs for its impact on trade.
The calendar system is lunar. Each lunar cycle is considered a month. Ordinarily there are 12 lunar months though every 3 years an extra month must be counted to keep in step with the seasons.
The lunar months are as follows. (The beginning of the first month would be the same as the beginning of january for us.)
1: Month of Rebirth 2: Month of Sowing (Most vegetables are planted) 3: Month of Lambs (most farmed animals give birth this month) 4: Month of Blossoms (month in which most fruit trees begin to flower) 5: Month of Potatos (Potatos are commonly harvested in this month) 6: Month of Sun 7: Month of Joy 8: Month of Harvest 9: Month of Fruit (the last of the autumn fruits are harvested this month) 10: Month of Barley (for this is the month in which barley is sown) 12: Month of Rest
This month is only counted every three years.
13: Month of Balance
