The Anja are a curious group of creatures by nature, and their life revolves around constant discovery. They are also the most culturally adaptive race, an Anja living in Shrenk’s society will soon adapt to the way of life, resulting in Anja thriving both in their native jungle homes and in the human towns of both Shrenk and Stronghelm.
Gender Equality
Males and females are seen as equal, but there are still things that are considered gender specific. The mother is to remain with the child until it is fully grown with the father bringing food. Men are also the only gender allowed to be the Paladin who handles foreign affairs.
Aside from that, the genders aren’t limited to jobs or methods of combat.
Clothing
Anja wear the clothing that is most useful to their actions. Therefore men and women wear largely the same clothing, and since dresses are unwieldy, both wear trousers. Their clothing is usually either green or tan, green if made from the vines in their forest or tan if they traded for linen from a human settlement.
Everyday Life:
Anja spend virtually all of their time either exploring their surroundings, sleeping or worshipping the Wind Deity in their temple. There is also a very strict pattern to this, two hours in the morning are dedicated to worship, then they all leave and explore the forest for food and entertainment before coming home for two more hours of worship before sleep.
This pattern cycles indefinitely, exploring can be replaced with mothering young or simply gathering food for the elder or a wife. It may also be exchanged for waging war, but war is rare.
Food:
Anja are only capable of eating vegetation. Their flat teeth renders them incapable of chewing meat effectively enough to gain any benefit from it, their teeth are only good for grinding vegetables or fruits. Grass or leaves are not the kind of things Anja eat – They are too low in nutrition to be of any use.
